Yeates Mancil Architects provided full A/E Services to St. John the Baptist Parish School Board for additions and renovations to the newly reopened 5th through 8th grade East St. John Preparatory Academy. Portions of the existing school building were damaged by a fire and demolished, making way for a new addition to the school campus. The new addition includes an administrative and assembly wing with a new Library/Media Center, Teacher’s Lounge and work spaces, student “Commons” area and “Cafetorium” space including a fully equipped Performance Stage. Existing undamaged portions of the school were renovated with new wall, ceiling, and other attractive building finishes. The work also included installation of new light fixtures, casework and classroom furnishings, as well as the replacement of the existing HVAC system and components. Finally, the new school design includes a secured main entry and safety measures taken at other egress points to control access into the building.
