This site, in Area A of Jackson Barracks, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was severely damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The design intent of the project was to adaptively renovate the interiors of the fourteen (14) original 1830s garrison buildings to be compatible with contemporary lifestyles. It was important to preserve the historic fabric and maintain as many of the historic features as possible on both the exterior and interior of each building. The design was awarded an AIA Louisiana Honor Award in 2011.
